On November 30, 2024, a significant milestone was achieved in Jumla with the successful formation of the Youth Human Rights Defenders Network (YHRDN). Comprising a dynamic team of 35 committed and passionate members, this newly formed network marks a powerful step forward in amplifying youth voices in the field of human rights advocacy.
The formation of the network followed a series of consultations and interactive programs that brought together young changemakers, civil society organizations, and local stakeholders. Recognizing the vital role youth play in shaping a just and inclusive society, this initiative aims to provide a structured platform where young defenders can organize, advocate, and act on issues affecting their communities.
The YHRDN in Jumla will focus on key areas such as promoting social justice, ensuring state accountability, addressing rights violations, and raising awareness about issues like access to education, healthcare, food, shelter, and the rights of marginalized groups—including women, children, and Dalit communities.
