Bikram Tiruwa, fondly known as Salin, is a 20-year-old youth from Kudari, Jumla, currently pursuing his B.Ed. Despite his young age, Bikram has consistently demonstrated a deep-rooted commitment to social justice. Long before joining any formal group, he was actively involved in community initiatives, guided by a strong sense of responsibility. He is also well-renowned as a poet and an elected student leader in Jumla Multiple Campus. He is also involved in a press named KUTIRO.com as a reporter and writes articles issues related to youth inclusiveness, human rights, and marginalized Dalit community voices.
His journey took a significant turn after becoming a member of the Young Human Rights Defenders (YHRD) Network in Jumla. This platform sharpened his understanding of young human rights-based issues and equipped him with tools to advocate more effectively. With newfound confidence and strategic insight, he began addressing community injustices with clarity and conviction.
Bikram’s leadership is marked by inclusivity, grassroots action, and a vision for sustainable change. He strongly believes in the power of collective young human rights advocacy, mobilizing voices to defend the rights of the marginalized Dalit community and challenge harmful norms. His focus is not just on reaction, but on proactive awareness and policy engagement to prevent future violations.
As a rising Young leader in Jumla’s human rights campaign, Bikram “Salin” became a role model for the strength of youth-led activism. His glowing work continues to inspire a campaign built on courage, coordination, and hope for a just society.
